Apple woes

As you may know, I bought a Macbook some two months ago, and the trackpad was broken. The pointer accelerates way too much when I move it, and that makes pointing at stuff really hard. Combine that with the keyboard-unfriendliness of OS X, and you have one big Mac hater in front of you. I sent it for service to the official Greek Apple distributor, Rainbow, but I was a bit worried that they wouldn’t do anything about it. My worst fears came true when it came back. Apparently, they had just upgraded the firmware (I doubt they even did that, really) and sent it back (hey, the pointer moves, it’s fine!) without as much as a second glance.

I called Apple to complain (yes, the actual Apple in the U.S.) and they told me that they couldn’t do anything since I wasn’t in the U.S. That didn’t seem to matter too much when they took my money though, did it? So, now I am left with a Mac I hate to touch made by a company that doesn’t care about its customers. I could tell Rainbow to change the keyboard anyway, but I would have to pay 150 Euros (230 USD), or I could get a cheap KB off eBay and change it myself, voiding the warranty.

One thing is for sure, though, I won’t be getting anything made by Apple any time soon.

Oh yes I know exactly what you mean!!!

I am a MACOSX user myself , I have my iMAC for 1,5 year and it worked like a charm. It did not created a single problem while my experience with both pcs and windows have been awful. But that does not mean that MACs do not break.

Unfortunately not only I am aware of the stupid way Rainbow treats Greek customers , I have insider information from a person that works there in a substantial position that it treats its employees even worse.

We have a saying here at Greece " the fish always start stink from the head" .It applies perfectly for RAINBOW.

Did you manage to fix it after all this disappointment ?
